In my opinion, it's a very well-done re-edited version.
The DVD version had different intercuts than the original version.
However, the scenes are more continuous than in the VHS version.
Due to some images sliding in and out,
the running time is about 15 seconds shorter at total.
But from the old 89-minute VHS version,
there are 80 minutes of DVD quality in there.
Which was unfortunately shortened.
