[zman] Ring The Final Chapter and Spiral (TV, 1999)

TV drama adaptations of the first two books of the Ring series. Well… loose adaptations. More like remixes. If you’re familiar with the original books or their film adaptations, they’re an interesting time capsule of brand exploitation. Or if you’re like me and you’re OCD about your favorite franchises, this will scratch that itch. But fair warning: there are some wacky choices in this version. Spiral bears almost no resemblance to its original story.

For the first part (the ironically-titled Final Chapter), I took the existing subs (no clue who made them) and synched them to a new encode of the blu-ray for the show. Keep in mind it’s a tape source, so don’t be expecting film quality. For Spiral, I’ve just included the captures that have been floating around. Subs are hard-coded and appear to come from Hawaiian TV.
