Captured by smugglers when he was just a hatchling, a macaw named Blu never learned to fly and lives a happily domesticated life in Minnesota with his human friend, Linda. Thrown together by a series of events and an encounter with animal smugglers, the two birds, chained together, must embark on a thrilling adventure through the bustling streets and lush jungles of Brazil. Along the way, Blu must find the courage to confront his fears and learn to fly, while discovering friendship, love, and what it truly means to be a bird.
