毎年８月１６日、熊谷市の中心を流れる星川に灯りが灯る。
暑いまち熊谷、８０年前の夏、一帯は炎に包まれていた。
日本で最後に空襲を受けた熊谷市。２６６人の命が戦争の犠牲となった・・・
人々の例を慰めるためにはじめられたとうろう流し。
戦争を語り継ぎ、次の世代の街づくりへと続く流れが、この星川から始まっている。
