Part 1: Mechanics, Waves & Particles. Physics 2000 is a calculus based, college level introductory physics course that is designed to include twentieth century physics throughout. This is made possible by introducing Einstein’s special theory of relativity in the first chapter. This way, students start off with a modern picture of how space and time behave, and are prepared to approach topics such as mass and energy from a modern point of view.
Part2: E & M, Quantum Mechanics, Optics, Calculus. In this chapter we will discuss only a few of the basic concepts of fluid dynamics, the concept of the velocity field, of streamlines, Bernoulli’s equation, and the basic structure of a well-formed vortex. While these topics are interesting in their own right, the subject is being discussed here to lay the foundation for many of the concepts that we will use in our discussion of electric and magnetic phenomena. This chapter is fairly easy reading, but it contains essential material for our later work. It is not optional
