Description
Where do I even begin? We waited 4 years for this. And we got a lot of broken promises. But it’s not entirely Nozomi’s fault. I blame this entirely on Sony/ Crunchyroll (FUNimation) corporate takeover, Also, they’re the ones who finalized the Blu-ray before sending it off to the replicator. I could have sworn, I read somewhere in one of the updates that they had to go back and redub some lines. I was like, is Crunchyroll pushing their agenda onto us? But I can’t find that update anymore. So I don’t know if they actually altered some lines.
Disc art are labelled wrong for both “Affair of Nolandia” and “Flight 005 Conspiracy”, they are flipped.
The discs do not have the character art like what Nozomi originally showed us in December 2023. Also they used different art for the cases too. Hard to say it I like the old art or the new art.
Japanese 5.1 audio on Ep. 24 is from Ep. 23.
No Mike Toole commentary for one of the features (a stretch goal)
No Pam Lauer/Jessica Calvello commentary for an OVA episode (also a stretch goal)
Mike Toole’s OVA commentary IS here (he recorded it for OVA 2)
No Scott Van Zann music for the OVAs, which was promised as a bonus audio track. Both the English 5.1 and 2.0 tracks have the Japanese music. April 2022 (Update #27).
The menus are very plain with no music, but are attractive and get the job done.
The English credits don’t play with the episodes and must be selected from the menu (all the English credits for the OVAs are on Disc 1)
*** UPDATE!!! — Disc replacements will be shipped out. — “Some of the disc labels are reversed on the Affair of Nolandia and Flight 005 Conspiracy discs. Also, the Japanese 5.1 audio on episode 24 on some of the Dirty Pair TV Series Blu-rays may have an issue and instead play the audio from episode 23. You won’t need to do anything as we will send replacements out for everyone. So even if you haven’t had the time to watch your discs yet or if you haven’t received yours yet, we’re still going to send replacements to you. Next week, we will share more information on timing of these replacement discs as soon as we have confirmation from our suppliers.” Update #70 , October 2, 2025
