Description

Black Sabbath – Zürich (Switzerland) – September 29, 1989 *** Swiss Heaven & Swiss Hell REMASTER

Artist: Black Sabbath
Style: Rock / Hard Rock
Date: Friday, September 29, 1989 (1989-09-29)
City: Zürich
Country: Switzerland
Venue: Volkshaus
CD Title: Swiss Heaven & Swiss Hell REMASTER
Promoted Album: Headless Cross

This is a 4 CD set of the one and only Headless Cross gig in Switzerland back in 1989.
Why 4 CD´s? Simply because it contains
a) a current transfer from the master tape
b) a remastered version from the master tape back in the mid-90´s

Unfortunately the master tape suffered damages over the past years, tho it had been stored savely in a box.
The damage causes irritating squealing noises mainly in the upper frequencies (sample attached). Thanks to my baking oven and Izoptop RX it was possible to reduce them to a certain extent. While doing this time consuming process, I thought to also reduce the many nasty whistlers and clappers who were nearby while I taped the gig.
All this led me to the decision to include a remaster of the 90´s tape transfer, too. You will notice that the upper frequencies are reduced and can´t be recovered anymore.
