Encode details:
The source was quite blurry but of very high quality overall. We applied a dirtylines fix and an adaptive denoise filter to preserve fine details while removing all grain and noise. Afterwards, we regrained the video using static grain matching the original one.
We chose AV1 as the codec because we believe it is now capable of preserving all kinds of details. Our encode achieved a PSNR of 52 compared to the raw filterchain. An HEVC test encode reached 55 with almost double of the file size.
