An Evel Knievel-inspired red, white and blue-clad, manga-eyed helmet-masked superhero with a swirling star-spangled striped cape he could use like a weapon, he rode a winged white motorcycle called the KageroCar he kept housed in a big and quite bizarre-looking anthropomorphic aircraft called the Kageboosee which he summoned with his flashlight-gun. Originally fighting American comics-style costumed crooks, in later episodes his foes became Kamen Rider-style mutated monsters created by his archenemy Dr. Satan (Goro Naya), a former Nazi scientist turned megalomaniacal mastermind also identified in some English language sources as Dr. Saturn. Kagestar was assisted his similarly empowered white-skirted partner Bellestar (Emi Hayakawa) who rode a motorcycle of her own called the BelleCar and had a small bell on her bracelet that rang to warn her of danger. The Kagestar (ザ・カゲスター, Za Kagesutā) est une série télévisée tokusatsu en prise de vues réelles produite par Toei en 1976, dans laquelle Kageoh Sugata (Naoki Tachibana), un jeune marionnettiste devenu employé de bureau, acquiert, grâce à un choc électrique reçu alors qu’il sauvait la fille de son riche patron des ravisseurs, la capacité de fusionner avec son ombre et de se transformer en Kagestar (« kage » signifie « ombre » en japonais). Inspiré d’Evel Knievel, ce super-héros vêtu de rouge, blanc et bleu, aux yeux de manga et au masque en forme de casque, était doté d’une cape rayée et étoilée qu’il pouvait utiliser comme une arme. Il chevauchait une moto blanche ailée appelée KageroCar, qu’il gardait dans un grand avion anthropomorphe assez bizarre appelé Kageboosee, qu’il invoquait à l’aide de son pistolet-lampe torche. Au départ, il combattait des criminels costumés à la manière des comics américains, mais dans les épisodes suivants, ses ennemis sont devenus des monstres mutants de type Kamen Rider créés par son ennemi juré, le Dr Satan (Goro Naya), un ancien scientifique nazi devenu un génie mégalomane également identifié dans certaines sources anglophones sous le nom de Dr Saturn. Kagestar était assisté par sa partenaire Bellestar (Emi Hayakawa), dotée de pouvoirs similaires, qui conduisait sa propre moto appelée BelleCar et portait une petite cloche à son bracelet qui sonnait pour l’avertir du danger. . . .
