Caterina Caselli (Caterina Caselli) - Italian singer of the 60-70s, actress and producer, born in 1946 and began her musical career at the age of 14, as a vocalist and bass guitarist of the group Gli Amici. In 1964, at the festival "New Voices" (Voci Nuovi) she reached the semi-finals, and in the same year she recorded her first singles Sciocca / Ti telefono tutte le sere, Mi sento stupida, Sono qui con voi (Italian version of Baby please don't go) which were not very successful from a commercial point of view. Real success came in 1966 at the Sanremo Festival, where Caselli performed the song Nessuno mi puо giudicare - which Adriano Celentano short-sightedly refused. The song instantly became a hit, although it was ahead of Domenico Modugno and Gigliola Cinquetti. More hits followed, in particular, Perdono, which took 5th place in the charts. In 1966, the Derby label released Caselli's first album, "Caterina meets the We Five", recorded with the American group We Five, which, although now a philophonic rarity, is made up of individual tracks recorded by the We Five and separate songs by Caterina Caselli. Having signed a contract with the CGD recording company, she released several more singles (including Tutto Nero - the Italian version of Paint it black by the Rolling Stones) and her second album, Casco d'oro. Caselli took part in song festivals three more times, although she never won a prize, but her songs consistently became hits. Caselli continued to perform and record until the 80s, starred in films, released singles, and appeared in several TV shows and music shows. At the same time, he began producing, founding his own record company, Sugar Music. Among the performers Caselli discovered were Andrea Boccelli, Gerardina Trovato, Paolo Vallesi, Elisa, and others
