Quite an interesting text editor that can easily work with files of any size, the limitation is only RAM, you can download TextPad below.
The interface is not repulsive, it is easy to understand and you can start working right away. If there is a great desire to work with several files, then the program does not prohibit this, open as many as you want, then you just have to switch between tabs. If during work you had to interrupt, then the next time you start TextPad will return to exactly the place where the work was completed.
