Description
THESE VIDEOS USE AN OLD VERSION OF PHOTOSHOP but they are great to help a person understand Photoshop basics - they helped me, tremendously.
Videos are accessed/viewed by launching the HTML pages in each folder which offer
easy navigation of the videos.
1. These tutorials are ancient (circa 2002) and feature Photoshop 6/7. Sounds
crazy, but......
2. For anyone wanting to learn the basics of Photoshop these were the easiest to
follow and the most helpful I have ever found. And....
3. While Photoshop has changed, considerably over the years, the basics remains
the same. For anyone just getting started these videos remain a great starting
point.
4. These two "sections" were originally released as CDs and used a browser-based
menu to display .mov files embedded in HTML (web pages). Very shortly after
they were released zero browsers continued to support .mov file streamed in
HTML.
5. As a consequence of the above, I converted the .mov files to .mp4 files. The
menus are well organized and are a great way to view the videos. The videos
display fine using FIREFOX. Using something like Chrome you'll get a message
that says the plugin is not supported (if you try to use the web-based menu for
viewing the videos).
6. Obviously, the videos can just be viewed in a media player without using the web-
based menu, etc.
7. I've included some sample code which - if a person had the time and inclination -
could be used to make the whole thing work using Chrome and Chrome variants.
8. One more time: If you know ZERO about Photoshop and are just getting started,
this is the best set of tutorials I ever found. I went on the become fairly good
with all future versions of Photoshop as these provided an excellent foundation
for many of the basics...which have not changed dramatically over the years
