Description:
The Rebirth of Buddha (Buddha Saitan) is the fifth full-length animated feature from Kyoufuku no Kagaku (幸福の科学, also known as The Institute for Research in Human Happiness, or colloquially, Happy Science). This anime is religious propaganda.
An adaptation of a book by Happy Science founder Ookawa Ryuuhou. The book and its film adaptation revolve around the prediction that Buddha will return “when the world sinks into darkness.” The film depicts the clash between false and true reincarnations of Buddha, and its impact on a troubled teenage girl afflicted by visions.
This is derived from QTS’ Blu-ray release. There is only one change: the English VOBSUBs have been OCRed, retimed, styled, and lightly edited to fix minor issues in punctuation, grammar, and spelling. In addition to the English audio and the English styled and image subtitles, the release includes dub tracks in two additional languages, Chinese and Spanish, and image subtitles in thirteen additional languages: French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Hindi, Nepali, Thai, and Singhala.
This (and other QTS-remuxes of Happy Science anime movies) has been floating around BakaBT and other private trackers for more than a decade. Why should they be the only anime communities to suffer?
A sumptuous production: Blu-ray, four audio tracks, fourteen subtitle tracks. What a waste, because, despite all that, it is still propaganda.
