Description:
Textbook in PDF format
The second edition of the book "Automotive Engineering" continues to provide readers with an introduction to the fundamentals of vehicle technology, in accordance
with the objectives set out in the original publication. To achieve this objective, the content of the initial edition has been substantially revised. The additional content
pertains specifically to the areas of vehicle drive systems and driver assistance systems, which have undergone significant advancements in recent years.
It is anticipated that the internal combustion engine, which has been used in motor vehicles for over 120 years, will be entirely superseded by the electric drive in
the medium to long term, assuming that the political requirements currently in place are implemented as planned. The pertinent technical principles are addressed in
greater depth in this volume than in the initial edition. The content of the initial edition has been expanded and updated to reflect the current state of automotive technology. Furthermore, the chapter on driver assistance systems and highly automated driving has been considerably expanded. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tobias Hesse has contributed his expertise to this edition as a co-writer, significantly revising and deepening the chapter with his extensive knowledge in the field
