I personally bought, ripped, and encoded these two newly released Japanese Blu-ray sets, and muxed them with my existing āT&Gā Scrub English softsubs, which were a thorough revision of the original TSHS hardsubs. The only changes I made to the subs from that release were changing some terminology to match FlameSubsās release of the first Sukeban Deka, adding lines for the eyecatchers/bumpers, and adding one insert song that I originally missed from episode 21. I also included a new second subtitle track without honorifics for those who prefer it that way.
This Blu-ray transfer also suffers from DNR just like the first Sukeban Deka, but the good news is that it isnāt nearly as bad here. Thereās still a visible grain structure, albeit greatly reduced and made to look much finer compared to the Toei Channel broadcast of episodes 1-20, which aired with the full grain intact and no DNR. The first seasonās Blu-ray was more aggressive with its DNR, removing much more of the grain. Thereās also no more edge enhancement haloing, which is great. Itās worth pointing out that the Toei Channel broadcast switched to DNRād masters from episode 21 onward anyway, so the Toei Channel and this Blu-ray are a match visually from that point on.
Check out my Blu-ray release of the first Sukeban Deka here, which comes muxed with the new subs by Flame as well as the original subs by DDP. I hope you all enjoy more subbed Sukeban Deka Blu-ray content!
