さまざまな花が咲き誇る春の京都。今回は、花の名所の神社仏閣をめぐり、語り継がれる花にまつわる物語を紐解く。椿の名所・平岡八幡宮では、境内の白玉椿に願掛けをすると、一夜にして花が咲き、願いも成就するという「白玉椿伝説」を紹介。小野小町ゆかりの梅の名所・随心院では、小町伝説を題材にした「はねず踊り」の魅力に迫る。また、女流歌人・和泉式部が初代住職を務めたと伝わる誠心院の軒端の梅、天下の名妓として名を馳せた二代目・吉野太夫が篤い信仰を寄せた常照寺の桜を案内するなど、百花繚乱の京都の風景をお届けする。
