Plot Summary:
Set in 1932 Mississippi during the Jim Crow era, Sinners follows twin brothers Elijah “Smoke” and Elias “Stack” as they return to their hometown after serving in World War I and living as gangsters in Chicago. Their plan to open a juke joint is disrupted when they encounter a supernatural evil that threatens their community. Blending historical realism with horror, the film explores themes of cultural appropriation, historical trauma, and the resilience of Black artistry.
