We are proud to present a taste of what’s to come: [SoM] Neon Genesis Evangelion
In honoring the source material, we thought it was important to showcase a bit of our long-overdue work on NGE.
Provided here is an homage to a long-ago release, Neon Genesis Evangelion 01 Test-Type. Originally released on DVD in 2003 to tease the fanbase with newly remastered footage for the Renewal release, we felt it was appropriate to do something similar.
And yes, Fly Me To The Moon is back!

Notes:

The original audio mixes from the Japanese Blu-ray release were used, as they were not affected by the worldwide change of removing FMTTM.
The ‘Official’ Dub, a.k.a the VSI dub, had FMTTM restored as well, no further edits necessary - in future episodes, inserts featuring renditions of FMTTM have likewise been restored.
The 2004/2021 DVD/USBD Hybrid by DamianV8501 was created due to the major issues found in the 2021 USBD release. Great care was taken to maintain quality, restore missing SFX and music, and maintain a proper surround sound stage.
While we did have access to the ADV US Laserdisc releases (only two released), the VHS release ultimately proved to be superior in audio fidelity, proving once again that ADV had high standards with VHS tapes!
This is the first time the original ADV 2.0 dub has been preserved in its entirety.
The commentary track was ported from the 2004 release, presented in all its glory - this is one of the more informative tracks.


Subtitles
A few words on the revised subtitle translation:

For our revised 2026 English translation, Dan Kanemitsu’s script, commissioned by Studio Khara, served as the basis for our updated track(s) for the series and EOE.
Major work from WPR and BestGirl went into revising and editing the script to improve readability, with more natural dialogue and more consistently defined character voices, as well as correcting translation errors from prior releases.
Episode 1 is merely a taste of things to come. The general direction taken here should be a representative insight into our full release.
This contains tracks with and without honorifics, synced to both Japanese audio mixes.
Additionally, prior translations from ADV, Manga Ent. (EOE), and Khara have been included to create the ultimate, most complete release imaginable.

Like our prior Cowboy Bebop release, we wanted to keep the unique natures of the 2.0 and 5.1 remixes; as such, there are distinctly timed tracks for each mix.

Brand new styling provided by hydes and LukZ for the songs and credits.
The honorifics tracks have all the names and credits in proper Japanese name order.
