With the revolutionary advent of supercapacitors as next-generation energy storage devices, a significant number of materials have been characterized as supercapacitor electrodes with few of them showing excellent electrochemical activities. The overall performance of a typical supercapacitor device fabricated using these characterized electrode materials depends upon the constituent components of the device besides few key parameters such as working potential window, equivalent series resistance (ESR), energy density, power density. The range of calculation parameters used to evaluate the performance of a supercapacitor varies, thus creating few significant hurdles for the device to be realized in practice. This book is an attempt to recollect the calculation methods that have been implemented till date and focus on the key factors or parameters including any discrepancy arising out of the instrumentation section affecting the same. This will help not only to determine the appropriate methodology for the evaluation of a supercapacitor device but also to single out the inconsistencies between the device performance and electrode material properties.
