Description:

Inka-Subs and Orphan Fansubs jointly (proudly is not the right word) present the 1988 sci-fi OVA Tooyamazakura Uchuuchou: Yatsu no Na wa Gold (Toyama Sakura Space Chronicles: His Name is Gold), commonly known as Samurai Gold. The show is set in a future ruled over by an omniscient supercomputer named EDO and a set of ruling consuls. Gold Disamount (disamounted from what isn’t said) is the disaffected son of the consul Retklaad. Gold spends his time drinking, losing at cards, and pursuing Midi, a singer at his favorite bar. When his father is attacked by a “ghost,” Gold is goaded into action. He flies to the space colony of Fedvar, unwilling accompanied by Midi. There, he teams up with know-it-all cousin Ritt to investigate the shady doings that resulted in the “accidental” deaths of the ruling Plenmatz family. Gold is repeatedly attacked by assassins and other villainous forces, as dastardly secrets are revealed. Will Gold survive? Will he get the girl? And will he ever explain what the **** is going on to the baffled viewer? Watch it to find out! Laserdisc source, ripped on the Domesday Duplicator. FLAC audio. For more details, see this Inka blog post and this Orphan blog entry. Samurai Gold is a joint Inka/Orphan project. This release, and all Orphan releases, are available for direct download from IRC bot Orphan|Arutha in channels #nibl or #news on irc.rizon.net.
