Notes:
The 4K remaster is one of the best anime remasters ever. I do not make this statement lightly; the color and detail improvements are absolutely stunning and easily whoop the previous JPBD remaster. Additionally, they went to the effort of digitally (yet accurately) recompositing the OP credits onto the creditless version, resulting in a much higher quality view of the animation than any previous release
For all intents and purposes, this is a reference remaster that’s great for testing out a high quality setup like an OLED
This release is my first release to use MKV cropping. On compatible players, the video will automatically be cropped to the active resolution of 2880x2160, removing the pillarbox bars. On players that are not compatible with MKV cropping, the video will remain in 3840x2160. As of this writing, mpv’s default settings (which are soon to change to fix this issue) may be a problem on certain devices. If subtitles are rendering improperly, I suggest adding blend-subtitles = yes to mpv.conf

Notes:
The Japanese audio is taken from the Dynit UHD like the video, and is the only disc I’ve found that presents it in true 24-bit as opposed to either 16-bit or padded 24-bit
The audio is a crisp mag transfer, nothing much to report; the UHD appears to use the JPBD master’s mag transfer with only a slight volume adjustment
On the subject of previous transfers potentially having superior audio; I checked the 1997 DVD box which is a port of the 1991 LaserDisc master and found the audio to actually be worse than the JPBD transfer with notably a sequence in Episode 2 using optical audio (???) This was also present in the 2008 DVDs, and both transfers additionally have censorship of certain words deemed not suitable for modern TV (these were restored in the JPBD transfer)
English audio is taken from the UKUHD. Both discs sync at the frame level without any additional syncing needed.
Music & Effects (M&E) is from the 2008 DVD box, which presented it at 224kbps AC3. Karaoke tracks for the OP/ED and M&E for the prologue are taken from the STARCHILD CD, as for some reason the DVD track uses the Japanese audio for these sections

Notes:
The [Crash] subtitles are an OCR of the UKUHD subs with my own typesetting for the (few) signs present throughout the series. No other edits were performed except for a few timing edits on a couple lines.
Thanks go to witchymary and Ploffy for assistance with typesetting and font recommendations.
I am not proud of the dubtitles at all and am only including them because they were available; the timing is absolutely hideous and there are many bad line spacing SNAFUs throughout. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or energy to manually edit 26 episodes of dubtitles (Cagliostro was absolutely draining) so they are presented as-is.
The non-English PGS subs are untouched with the exception of any edits required for sync to the ITUHD.
The JPBD included a storyboard track for Episode 1. If you wish to view the storyboards on your own, they were also included as a slideshow available in the Extras folder.
Extras
The 4K remaster removed the NEPs (Next Episode Previews). These were only present in Episodes 1-4, and were likely removed to retain consistency with the rest of the series. Remuxes of the JPBD versions are included, with subs.
